Service number T28284, Sapper with 8 Works and Parks Coy, enlisted at Burnie on 10 September 1941. Gave his birthdate as 11 April 1921, next of kin as Charles, his father. He was an unmarried lorry driver working at South Riana. He commenced Full Time Duty on 4 November 1941, was hospitalized with tonsillitis at the end of December, then was transferred to Area 50 and discharged on 29 December 1941.
Service number 89053 L.A.C. No 5 Airfield Construction Coy. Trained at Shepparton and Lara Junction as a plant operator. He served on Moratai Island then the landing at Tarakan, Borneo where air-strips were constructed. He remained there until the end of the war when he was discharged on 8 February 1946.
