#109 at South Riana, He was enrolled by his father E.J. Masters, farmer of South Riana in June 1913. Ernest began in Grade I, then in 1914 he proceeded to II, 1915 III, 1916 IV, 1917 IV and V, 1918/19/20 VI. He passed the Compulsory Standard and left school on 27 March 1920 as he was ‘required at home’.

 

Military Records

Service number T51007. He enlisted at Riana on 10 July 1942 aged 36 years. His next of kin was Alma his wife, and he stated that he had a family of 3 children, was a farmer and living at South Riana. He was described as 5’8 ½ “, with a fresh complexion, thin dark brown hair and blue eyes. No discharge date.
