 Service number VF514962 at the AWAS Admin School. She enlisted in Melbourne on 11 January 1944, giving her next of kin as her father Walter. She had been a grocer’s assistant and was single. She was 5’3” tall with brown hair and hazel eyes. Her continuous full time duty was 478 days, being discharged  on 6 May 1945 as ‘medically unfit’.  Ethel suffered from thyrotoxicosis which was detected in August 1944, and was hospitalised several times.
