#423 at South Riana. Admitted on 4 February 1930 by his father William, farmer of South Riana, living 2 miles from the school.  In 1930 he was placed in Grade I, 1931 II, 1932 III, 1933 IV, 1934 V and 1935VI. He left South Riana School in December 1935 with a scholarship to Devonport High School.

Military Records

Service number 88320. Leading Aircraftman at the 6th  Recruit Centre. Dale enlisted in Hobart on 12 January 1943 with his next of kin his father William McCarthy. He was discharged on 12 June 1945.
