Enrolment number 404 at South Riana State School. Admitted on 30 January 1929 by father Lawrence (name written William) and a birthdate given as 12 April 1921. His father was described as a farmer from South Riana and Loyatea. He left in August 1935 over age.

 

Military Records

Service number T28174, placed as a Gunner in the 6th Field Regiment upon enlistment on 7 October 1941 at Penguin. Next of kin was his father Lawrence of South Riana. Claude was an unmarried lorry driver aged 19 ½. In December 1941 he was granted leave for Harvest, in May 1942 leave for Potato Digging, and in  May 1943 he was granted release from further Military Service and discharged 1 June 1943.
