Service number H1860. His next of kin was given as wife Agnes who at that time was living at Prahran in Victoria, although he gave his address on discharge as c/- P.O. South Riana. He enlisted on 19 November 1941 with a rank of Stoker II. He was 5’8 tall with brown hair, blue eyes and a ruddy complexion. He served various ships throughout his service – Cerebus 19 Nov 41 to 21 Apr 42, Lonsdale 22 Apr 42 – 17 Sept 1942, Penguin Inverell 18 Sep 42 – 31 Dec 42, Melville 1 Jan 43 – 31 Mar 43, then amongst others Uralba,  Huon, Stuart (all missing details) and finally the Penguin again until discharge on 29 January 1946. His character was described a ‘very good’.
